The Lightning Clubman was built in 1964 & 1965 ( 200 in total ) as a production racer. Mike Hailwood won the 1965 Hutchinson 100 at Siverstone on a Clubman.
It had a black and gold paint scheme, rear set pegs, modified kick start lever, drop handle bars, single seat, Siamese exhaust pipes, close ratio gears. This bike has all these things plus Borrani rims. The fellow that restored the bike was convinced this bike is the real thing. I’m not sure and don’t know how you would tell for sure. The regular Lightning and the Clubman had the same engine and frame and shared the same factory number sequence. Engine # on this machine is A65DC 5### & frame A507 ####
This bike is so 1960’s, is stunning beautiful. and a wonderful ride. Locate in Nelson BC Canada.
