The first Norton Commandos were all Fastbacks, designated Model 20M3, although they weren’t referred to as Commando Fastbacks, just Norton Commandos. The first one, Engine #126125, rolled off the assembly line in February 1968 to rave reviews
This is an early Norton Commando and is matching numbers. The Norton Owners club “twin Records” dates it to May 8, 1968. VIN 1268xx. It is an original Canadian import bike. It has the original frame that has been strengthened. It is an older, full ground up restoration and was repainted the to the original colour. It has approx 1500 miles since that restoration. It won “best fastback” in Lumby 2011. It has approx 1000 miles since then. It has Caswell gas tank coating, Boyer ignition, and newer Amal carbs. It starts easy, runs and rides great. It is not concourse but it is in excellent condition.
The bike is in Lake Country, BC
